Mr. Dudley Sirisena, Hons. Chairman of Araliya group of companies annually organize a pilgrimage of one day tour as the celebration of his birth day, where he takes many people who are over 55 years old, as possible to many religious places. With the great support of the members of the Araliya Group he has been succeeded in completing 8 trips so far, where they have visited Dalada Maligawa, Nagadeepa, Katharagama, Lankapatuna, Marvil Aru, Seruvavila and Koeswaran. The first trip as he mentions was participated by 850 people and the trip to Katharagama by 2,500 people. What has inspired Mr. Dudley Sirisena to organize this annual trip was that in the time he had severely injured in 2008, people in Polonnaruwa has treated him with great respect by visiting him to look for his health. These visitors were above 50 years old and some were in wheelchairs and others were unable to walk or move.
On the pilgrimage all the necessities are covered by Araliya Group, from their meals to transport, each and every need. The success of the Araliya Group is always blessed by the love and respect of all these people the Group passionately cares for.
